Show Boating
Thousands of boating enthusiasts zoomed recently to the Puerto Rico Convention Center in Miramar for the fourth annual Puerto Rico International Boat Show.
Over 13,000 serious boaters and aficionados shuttled between the center and the San Juan Bay Marina to catch a glimpse of luxury boats, yachts, power boats, sailboats, dinghies, and jet skis. Experienced boaters and wannabes alike were welcome to come on board and check the vessels up close.
In addition to the boat exhibitors, guests also visited local and Caribbean booths featuring yacht clubs, fishing equipment, marine fashion designers, the U.S. Coast Guard, Customs, specialty cleaning products and insurance, just to name a few.
Visitors, mostly families hanging with their broods, enjoyed criollo food and sampled Medalla beer, one of the activity's sponsors. Many kicked back at the Boricua beer's lounge, a perfect place to relax and cool down. The largest boat show in the Caribbean , the Puerto Rico International Boat Show is produced by José Torre of Ways Communications. —V.L.
